JUNK Food!
Junk food is a type of food that is usually really yummy but not very good for you. It can make you gain weight and even make you sick if you eat too much of it. Some examples of junk food are burgers, fries, candy, and chips.
But why do we like junk food so much? Well, one reason is that it's advertised to us a lot. You might see commercials on TV or online that show really yummy pictures of junk food and make you want to eat it. And sometimes, the commercials even say that it's okay to eat junk food because it's a treat or something special.
Another reason junk food is popular is because it's really easy to get. You can just go to a fast food restaurant or a convenience store and buy some junk food. And sometimes, when you're really busy, it's just easier to eat junk food instead of cooking something healthy.
But even though junk food is yummy and easy to get, it's not really that good for you. Junk food is usually high in calories, sugar, and fat, but low in vitamins and minerals. That means it doesn't really give you the stuff you need to be healthy.
So what can we do to eat less junk food? One thing is to try to eat more fruits and vegetables. They have a lot of vitamins and minerals, and they can be really yummy too! And another thing is to try to eat less junk food, but not to cut it out completely. You can still have some junk food as a treat, but just don't eat too much of it.When you do eat junk food, try to make healthy choices. For example, instead of getting a really big burger and fries, you could get a smaller burger and a side salad. Or instead of getting candy or chips, you could get some fruit or nuts.
Another thing you can do is to be more mindful when you're eating. That means paying attention to how you're feeling when you eat and how much you're eating. Sometimes we eat junk food because we're bored or stressed, but if we pay more attention to how we're feeling, we might be able to make better choices.
